Driven by Cindy at HotSauce4tv, Glam Show Live took place at the Earls Court exhibition center over the weekend of October 31st - November 1st 2009. The event in association with lifestyle expert Nicky Hambleton-Jones brought to the front an array of activities creating the ultimate girls day out.

From complimentary consultations on how to create the perfect smile available free to any participant (usually costing £180) to the exclusive launch of Thornton's new range of Metropolitian Chocolates, where samples were available to taste. The event drew crowds from across the board with the highlight of the weekend for many being the numerous catwalk shows.

As is becoming the norm in recent years fashion is becoming more intertwined with environmental awareness and social responsibility. Companies such as the Environmental Justice Foundation who provide clothes made from cotton free of 'injustice' were present both on stage as well as at a stand.

Among the larger representations you would find the occasion unique supplier such as Saffron Sacks, creating beautiful handmade leather and suede handbags. The type of product rarely found in our high street stores with attention to detail ensuring a high quality inside lining as well as the expected superior exterior.

As a fan of honey it was good to see it's utilization in cosmetic products with the Huni range. Comvita's many products using UMF 20 Manuka honey included a lip balm which did indeed leave my lips moisturised though it was unfortunate that the scent of honey was not as strong as I had hoped.

As a man, and less familiar with many of the beauty treatments directed to women, I found the Crystal Mud products to be quite interesting. Something about resting your feet in a crystal bath after a long day on your feet should be marketed to both genders though perhaps a wider selection including more masculine scents would draw the attraction of men.

No event would be complete with support of a charity, in this case, that of the Breast Cancer Campaign where while almost 45,000 women a year are diagnosed with the condition each year, some 300 men are also diagnosed with it.
